About the role:
Southwark Telecare Team are recruiting an additional Occupational Therapist as a Secondment Opportunity until 31st March 2025 to support the Analogue to Digital Project
Technology Enabled Care is a growing and exciting sector within Social Care and offers opportunities for developing your skills and knowledge. You will bring your existing knowledge and expertise to provide an enhanced Telecare service to the wider Community.
As an experienced Occupational Therapist you will complete Telecare assessments in the community and identify creative solutions including the provision of Southwark’s new digital Telecare solutions, as well as Hearing Impairment equipment and stand alone assistive technologies to enable services users to remain in their own homes according to their wishes; and to promote independence, choice and wellbeing and provide support to carers as appropriate. You will participate in the duty process including screening of referrals and managing Team enquiries.
The Telecare Team works closely with SMART and the Analogue to Digital project Team to deliver a safe, strength-based service, promoting and improving independence, ensuring comprehensive person-centred assessments, reviews and interventions, and ensuring residents are safeguarded, enabling choice and control regarding their care and support needs.
You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with an understanding of Telecare solutions and the role of SMART with monitored technology. You will have opportunity to develop knowledge around technology used with hearing impairment clients and support Telecare team to develop in this area.
This is a Grade 10 full time position of 36 hours a week. The post will be fixed term until 31st March 2025
The post reports directly to the Deputy Telecare Manager
