Team Manager (Social Worker)

Southwark Adult Social Care (Substance Misuse):

Do you have what it takes to lead a forward thinking team that is committed to promoting new ways of supporting and engaging with people who misuse substances?

This is an exciting role that requires a candidate with excellent skills in communication, organisation and developing partnership working, with proven experience in leadership to help to continue to develop a high quality service for Southwark residents.

This post is responsible to Mental Health Service Managers. You will lead a team of Social Workers, Assistant Practitioners and Business Support. You will be based within a friendly, creative, collaborative and supportive department at our impressive offices in Camberwell.

The role will need to promote safe, innovative and creative approaches to meeting the needs of both service users and carers in line with best practice and quality assurance, alongside performance and budget management, and management oversight of resources and cases.

About you:

You will be a registered Social Worker and have experience of managing others within a health, adult social care and/or voluntary sector setting. You will have a genuine passion for the provision of high quality services and demonstrate a commitment to strengths based ways of working.

You will have awareness of current social care legislation and policy including safeguarding adults.

You will have understanding of the application of the principles of equality and diversity and implementing it in practice.

You will be a practical thinker and have the ability to manage demand while keeping the person at the centre of our strategic vision. We are looking for an innovative and experienced leader with the drive, resilience and creativity to help lead a busy team within a high performing inner London borough.
