Client Finance Team Manager

Adult Social Care is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Client Finance Team Manager to manage the Income and Collection Team. To lead on the delivery of key reporting functions and ongoing management of the team. To drive continuous service improvements and to maximise the collection of client contributions. Located in the Personal Budget and Client Finance service, which delivers a range of back office functions; the successful candidate will take a lead in the collection of adult social care debts as set out in the council’s Fairer Contributions Policy and the Care Act 2014.

As part of the client finance team, this role will support a refreshed and proactive approach, modelling best practice for the collection of arrears and income functions across the team. This is a generic role, with potential for the successful person to be redeployed to manage the Client Affairs or Charging Team.

As part of this role you will apply and understand debt recovery procedures, policies, practices, legislation and codes of practice that govern how the work area operates and the need to comply with standards of behaviour outlined in relevant legislation and guidance.

You will need strong management, administrative and numeracy skills, be able to work efficiently, have attention to detail that enhances accuracy, and have good knowledge of the legislation, policy and financial context that influence the work of Adult Social Care.

For this role you must also be able to communicate confidently and effectively when dealing with the public, elected representatives and other stakeholders.
