The Role

Southwark is a large, ambitious and progressive council with a ‘can do’ attitude and enviable reputation. As a Council, we are successful, passionate and forward-thinking. We are committed to our ‘Fairer Futures for All’ promise which ensures that our residents and businesses are central to everything we do. If you want to make a difference at a local level, apply to Southwark Council today.

We are an organisation who is passionate about our people and understands that richness of diversity is a requirement to provide the best possible services to our communities. This is demonstrated through our council-wide ambitious commitment to tackle racial inequality in our communities and workforce through our Southwark Stands Together initiative. We particularly welcome applications from members of the black, Asian and ethnic minority communities to increase representation at senior management level in the Council.

Here in Southwark we are unique in that we have occupational therapists working in many teams; in Older Persons and Physical Disabilities, Telecare and Assistive Technology, Mental Health and Children’s Service.

Due to increased demand, we are seeking new Occupational Therapy talent who wish to develop their community skills. We are determined to provide people in our community with a lifestyle that helps me live their lives with the support they need and we find a way to deliver on this for each and every one.

We have a range of roles that we are looking to recruit to and are determined to make a difference for our residents. For this reason it goes without saying that we are looking for ambitious people to consider Southwark in your career journey and join us to assess the needs of people living with disability and deliver interventions which improve wellbeing and quality of life, maximising independence and supporting carers.
