The Role:

Southwark Social Care are looking for confident and experienced Social Workers to join our Learning Disability Service (working with adults aged 25+). This services provide a comprehensive and integrated social care pathway young people and adults with learning disabilities and other disabilities using the Adult legislation and care and support.

As a Social Worker you will be responsible for providing comprehensive and effective integrated social work service to respond people with Learning Disabilities within Adult’s legislation. This will include undertaking statutory responsibilities including visits, reviews, reporting to court and complex safeguarding. 

A key part of this role is to develop trust and assist in safeguarding and promoting positive and timely outcomes for service users and there families. Ensuring focused interventions are delivered to safeguard and empower our service users with learning disabilities.

 

About you:

You will have the ability to undertake strength based social care assessments. You will be able to determining the need of an individual and produce outcome focused support plans.

You will have the ability to establish a rapport and build and maintain a professional, respectful and honest relationship with the service user and their family/carer. 

You will have the ability to deliver focused interventions to safeguard vulnerable adults and promote independence, positive outcomes and promote the use of assistive technology.
