Perpetua : Social Worker, All Age Disabilities
I have worked as a social worker within the Adults Learning Disabilities/All Age Disabilities Teams for 9.5 years. Through my role with Southwark I have learnt to complete community DOLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard), Court reports, improve in completing complex Care Act assessments, trained as a Best Interest Assessor as well as developed skills in managing complex cases. I have become more confident in my social work practice and in making day-to-day decisions in the lives of my clients and supporting their families and /or care providers.
What I enjoy most about my role is assessing people and identifying suitable accommodations for each individual client and liaising with care providers to provide appropriate support for clients to develop their independence skills, promote their health and well being and achieve their desired outcomes.
I feel supported in my role. AAD Team operates an open door policy where you can easily talk with the Service Manager and other Team Managers to make decisions, resolve crisis situation and vent /share the challenges that go with the day-to-day social work interventions.
I am proud to work for Southwark ASC. I feel fulfilled, confident and valued.
